Sheriff Tommy Greenwell said 48-year-old Geoffrey Spearse was detained at Wilson's Salvage Yard in Kennett, Missouri, after authorities were informed he was there trying to sell stolen copper valued at $4,800. Greenwell said Spears has been arrested several times over the years in connection with thefts at Pemiscot Dunklin Cooperative.

Greenwell also reported that last week his office received a 911 call from a juvenile in Hayti Heights, Missouri, who said he had stolen two iPads. Deputies recovered the stolen property and juvenile authorities are dealing with the minor who allegedly took the iPads from the Hayti School District. Deputies will return the stolen property to school officials at a later date.
