The driver of the tractor trailer was William Shepard, 41, of Red Bud, Ill.

The mishap occurred on U.S. 412 four miles east of Kennett.

A spokeswoman for the Missouri Highway Patrol said Dillard and Pogue were standing between two vehicles parked front to front at the side of the road when the eastbound tractor trailer ran into the disabled rear vehicle, pushing it into the other vehicle.
