DEXTER -- A Stoddard County woman died while walking across a highway two miles from Dexter Wednesday night, the state Highway Patrol said.

Cynthia Weaver, 26, had been walking north across the westbound lane of U.S. 60 when she was struck by a car driven by Lily Carver, 73, of Dexter.

Weaver was pronounced dead at the scene, and Carver was taken to Dexter Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Several other drivers were injured in accidents Thursday. Two of the accidents were reported in Butler County.

William Graham, 20, was injured when his truck ran off the road on Highway 53 a mile north of Qulin and overturned. He was taken by ambulance to Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

David Calvert, 50, of Poplar Bluff was injured when he lost control of his vehicle on a gravel road and overturned. He was taken to Lucy Lee Hospital for treatment.

Just west of Cape Girardeau, Angela Tucker was injured when her vehicle ran off the right side of the road, struck a tree and then spun around and overturned.
