Home-schoolers in the area are invited to participate in a 12-week physical education class offered by the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department.

The cost for winter/spring is $22 per child, and sessions will be held from 1 to 2:15 p.m. each Friday from Jan. 29 to April 22, said recreation coordinator Cassie Dennis. The first class will be at the Osage Centre.

Each session will focus on a different recreational activity. Among the offerings are swimming, dodgeball, bowling, volleyball, scooter hockey, capture the flag, relay races, basketball and more. Children age 5 to 9 will be in one group, and ages 10 to 17 will be in another.

Anyone interested in signing up may go to the Arena Building or Osage Centre, or visit cityofcape.org. The fee is for all 12 weeks of instruction per child.
