Dr. Paul Keys, a top official at Southeast Missouri State University, has resigned to take a position as provost and vice president for academic affairs at a Chicago area school.

He will begin his new job on Oct. 23. Governor's State serves juniors, seniors and master's degree students. It has an enrollment of 9,000 students.
Dr. Michael Parker, associate professor of social work, has been named interim dean of the College of Health and Human Services, and a committee will be formed to search for Keys' replacement.

He helped develop the Southeast Missouri Weed and Seed Crime Prevention and Control Program, and assisted with the reorganization of the Cape Girardeau Civic Center.
As associate provost, he helped create the Regional Public Service Institute to serve the region.
