PATTON RECEIVES AWARD

Shawnee Community College trustee Don Patton of Cairo has received a Trustee Education Award from the Illinois Community College Trustees Association. Patton was one of only five trustees statewide to receive the honor during the group's annual convention on June 13 in Springfield. He has served on the SCC Board of Trustees since 1989, and was chairperson from 1993-1995. Patton was vice-chairperson from 1991-93. The award is granted to individuals who have participated in a minimum of 15 or more ICCTA seminars during their tenure as community college trustees.
