Tori Patterson has been selected to attend the Missouri Scholars Academy on the campus of the University of Missouri-Columbia June 11-July 1. She will be one of approximately 330 sophomores from Missouri to be invited.
The academy is administered by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education through funds appropriated by the Missouri General Assembly. It was established to provide educational experiences that differ from those provided in the more traditional high school programs.
The academy is a three-week residential program for Missouri's gifted student who are ready to begin their junior year in high school.
Patterson is a sophomore at Oran High School and is the daughter of Wayne and Linda Patterson of Oran.
