JACKSON -- The Missouri Highway Patrol will host a town hall meeting at the American Legion Hall in Jackson Monday at 7 p.m., and in other area cities over the next two months.
The meeting, which is open to everyone, will provide an opportunity for people of the area to meet with Troop E Capt. Morris E. Patrick and troopers assigned to the Cape Girardeau County zone.
A short program will be presented on "inner workings" of the patrol. Troopers who specialize in commercial driver's licenses, the division of drug and crime control, motor vehicle inspection, commercial vehicle enforcement and other aspects of the patrol will attend.
Cpl. Jim Pemberton and his drug-sniffing dog, Ben, will attend when available.
The Jackson meeting is the first of 13 scheduled. Other meetings, all of which start at 7 p.m. will be held:
-- March 31, Butler County, Troop E Headquarters in Poplar Bluff.
-- April 7, Madison County, County Courthouse in Fredericktown.
-- April 11, Pemiscot County, Community Center in Hayti.
-- April 14, Stoddard County, County Courthouse in Bloomfield.
-- April 18, Bollinger County, Woodland High School in Marble Hill.
-- April 21, Ripley County, City Hall in Doniphan.
-- April 26, Wayne County, County Courthouse in Greenville.
-- April 28, Dunklin County, County Courthouse in Kennett.
-- May 3, New Madrid County, Central High School in New Madrid.
-- May 5, Scott County, County Courthouse in Benton.
-- May 9, Mississippi County, Chamber of Commerce building in Charleston.
-- May 17, Iron County, County Courthouse in Ironton.
