POPLAR BLUFF - The Missouri Highway Patrol's Troop E will hold an open house from 1-5 p.m., Sunday at troop headquarters, Highway 67 north of Poplar Bluff.
In addition to tours of the building, visitors may see the patrol's Jet Ranger or Hughes 500 helicopters, K-9 dogs and their handlers, the Special Emergency Response Team, and new patrol cars.
Officers will be on hand to answer questions and provide tours as well as demonstrate special equipment. Refreshments will be served.
"We are using this day as an opportunity to thank the public for their support of the Missouri Highway Patrol over the past 61 years and to show some of the newest equipment used by the Patrol and the services we can provide," said Captain Don Shelton, Troop E commander. "We extend an invitation to everyone in the area to stop by and tour our facility. We're very proud of it."
