TOWN AND COUNTRY, Mo. (AP) -- The Missouri State Highway Patrol says inattentive driving is to blame for an accident on Interstate 64 that left two people dead and 16 injured.

Jeffrey Knight of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, was driving the tractor-trailer that plowed into stopped traffic in suburban St. Louis on Tuesday. Three people remain in critical condition.

The accident killed Charles Cason of Caseyville, Illinois, and Lydia Miller of Canton, Missouri. Both were 55.

All told, 11 vehicles were involved in the wreck. So far, no decision has been made on charges.
