Part of Broadway will be closed Monday

A section of Broadway will be closed Monday for asphalt-patching work.

Work will begin about 8 a.m. along the 100 block of Broadway, between Spanish and Main streets.

Work is expected to last a day, weather permitting.

Detours have been established because the closure affects the truck route along Highway 177 in downtown Cape Girardeau. Traffic will be detoured from the south via Shawnee Parkway along South Sprigg Street to Lexington Avenue, then east to Big Bend Road/Highway 177.

Traffic from the north will be detoured from Big Bend Road/Highway 177 to Lexington Avenue, then to North Sprigg Street.
