Two area men were in court Friday on drug trafficking charges.
De Regionald Cain, 41, of Parma was sentenced to 57 months on six felony counts of distribution of cocaine base. He appeared before U.S. District Judge Rodney W. Sippel.
According to reports, Cain sold a quantity of crack cocaine on six occasions to an undercover officer for the Bootheel Drug Task Force in New Madrid County.
Gregory J. Stokes, 29, of Charleston, pleaded guilty to one felony count of distribution of five grams or more of cocaine base. He appeared Friday morning in U.S. District court. Sentencing is set for Oct. 10.
According to reports, an informant drove to Stokes' residence on July 27, 1999. Stokes got into the informant's car and directed the informant to drive to an apartment building.
Stokes went into an apartment. When he returned to the vehicle, Stokes gave the informant 10.7 grams of crack cocaine contained in a plastic bag in exchange for $500.
Stokes now faces a maximum punishment of 40 years in prison and a $2 million fine.
