NEW HAMBURG -- The annual St. Lawrence Parish picnic is set for July Friday and Saturday at the ball field.
Events start at 5 p.m. Friday and again at 11 a.m. Saturday. The midway closes at midnight each night.
Saturday's activities include children's races beginning at 2 p.m.; pony rides and a petting zoo will be available during the day; a horseshoe tournament begins at noon; and a dance with music by Charlie's Music Revue.
An all-you-can-eat meal, cooked by women of the parish, will be served from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday. The cost for adults is $5 and $2.50 for children.
The New Hamburg queen contest will be at 7 p.m. Friday and a Little Mr. and Miss New Hamburg contest will be at 7 p.m. Saturday.
All events will be held around the city ball field, said event chairman Norman Heuring. To get to New Hamburg, take U.S. Highway 61 south to Route A.
