Louisa Panou-Takahashi, associate professor of voice and opera at Southeast Missouri State University, will give a recital at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Old St. Vincent Church.
She will be accompanied by Paul Thomson on flute, Gary Miller on piano and tenor Christopher Goeke.
The first part of the program will consist of music by Paisiello, Satie, Poulenc and Kostantinides. The second half almost entirely will be dedicated to duets from popular musical theater and operatic hits.
Panou-Takahashi has an undergraduate degree from St. Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, a master's degree from Kent State University and a doctorate from Florida State. She has served on the faculties of Brigham Young University and the University of Minnesota.
Panou-Takahashi has performed in Italy, Germany, Austria, Norway and Greece as well as in the U.S.
