Bergerson, who chairs the department, will serve as moderator. The Common Hour event is scheduled to start at 12:15 p.m. at Crisp Hall Auditorium.

Bergerson said the panel will discuss all of the races in the U.S. House and Senate, with particular attention focused on the 8th District House race and the U.S. Senate races in New York and California.

The panelists also will analyze state legislative and gubernatorial races, particularly the Illinois governor's race.

"We will discuss what the '98 election says about the year 2000 from a presidential and congressional standpoint," Bergerson said.
