"On Location Landscape Painting" and "Experimental Tapestry Weaving" will be among the art courses offered this summer at Southeast Missouri State University.
"On Location Landscape Painting" will be taught June 13 to July 7 by art professor Dr. Grant Lund. The class will meet from 8 to noon Tuesdays through Fridays.
The class will be canceled if enrollment is inadequate a week before the class begins.
Lund said the course will focus on oil and landscape painting.
Students should have basic experience with drawing and design, but previous oil painting experience isn't required.
The class may be taken for credit by both undergraduates and graduate students. It also may be taken as a no-credit audit.
Art professor Dr. Pat Reagan-Woodard will teach "Experimental Tapestry Weaving" June 20 to 30. The course is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays. No pre-requisites are necessary.
From drawing and design exercises, students will plan an original tapestry weaving. Students will supply some basic tools, assemble weaving frames and learn basic tapestry weaving techniques.
Students may earn three college credits. Arrangements also may be made for receiving graduate credit.
For more information on the "On Location Landscape Painting" course, contact Lund in Room 100-B of the Art Building or call him during the day at (314) 651-2397. Reagan-Woodard can be reached by calling (314) 651-2260.
