Singles in Agriculture is a national nonprofit organization organized in 1986 for single women and men with agriculture-related business backgrounds to get together and meet one another. All farm men and women 18 and over who were or are employed in farming or with agriculture-related backgrounds are strongly encouraged to attend.
The Missouri Chapter of Singles in Agriculture will host a weekend activity meeting at noon Saturday at the Hickory House Inn at Dexter, Mo., for registration and to carpool to Sikeston, Mo. Tours, a barbecue dinner and the Sikeston rodeo will be featured.
The purpose of Singles in Agriculture is to promote educational, recreational and social opportunities while enjoying the fun and fellowship of one another. Building new friendships and enjoying new tomorrows is what the organization is all about.
Presently there are over 900 members in 27 states. Three national activities take place every year: the National Convention, the National Anniversary and the National Campout.
The Missouri chapter has informative meetings with activities throughout the year. Nine board members work closely with the national board. Activities include farm tours, historical tours, dinner dances, barn dances, rodeos, canoeing, hayrides, weiner roasts and potluck dinners.
