Dedication of a new Optimist Tot Lot in Capaha Park will be held today at 4 p.m.
The playground is along Broadway south of the swimming pool.
The Evening Optimist Club had an old playground removed that it had installed in the early 1960s and paid the costs of a new one.
Thomas M. Meyer, a member of the club, said the equipment is designed for children 2 to 6 and is accessible to children with handicaps.
A number of preschool children are expected to be on hand to assist with the ribbon-cutting and dedication.
Meyer said the project was done in cooperation with the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department.
