CAPE GIRARDEAU -- An open house for Cape Girardeau County adoption specialist Eleanor M. Kinsey will be held Friday from 2-4 p.m. at the Division of Family Services, 130 South Frederick.
Kinsey, a social worker for nearly 18 years, will retire from the Division of Family Services in April.
She has been the Cape Girardeau County adoption specialist for nearly eight years, and has placed some 100 adoptive children in her career and worked with more than 150 adoptive families.
Kinsey also was instrumental in the establishment of an adoption support group and has been an active member of the Cape Girardeau County Child Abuse and Neglect Council for nearly 10 years.
A special invitation to the open house is being extended to all of "Ele's families" and "Ele's kids" as well as others who would like to wish her well.
Kinsey and her husband, Clayton Kinsey, live in Cape Girardeau and have five children and eight grandchildren. She also is active in the Mt. Auburn Christian Church in Cape Girardeau.
