In 20 years, the Community counseling Center went from a small brick structure on Good Hope Street to a two-story complex on Silver Springs Road.
It's something to crow about, but Kim Swartz, executive director of the CCC Foundation, said an upcoming 20th anniversary open house isn't just to congratulate the center.
"We want to say thanks to Southeast Missouri for being so supportive and interested in mental health," Swartz said. "We appreciate the help we've received in the five counties we serve.
The open house will be Nov. 13, from 2-4 p.m. and will feature music, refreshments and two skits by the Clubhouse Players. Members of the acting group are clients of the CCC-sponsored Someone's Greasure Clubhouse, which provides rehabilitation and support for adults with severe mental illness.
Swartz mailed hundreds of invitations to the event, but the public is encouraged to attend, too. For additional information, call CCC at 334-1100.
