During interviews officers conducted with witnesses at the scene, it appeared that the shots were preceded by an ongoing feud between several individuals, which erupted at the Sikeston High School volleyball game earlier Monday evening. Investigators collected evidence from the scene for more than two hours.

Other interviews by DPS detectives through the night led to the arrest of two subjects around 4 a.m.

The two subjects, whose names are being withheld, were being held at Sikeston DPS pending the issuance of warrants for the assault as of press time.

Weapons used in the assault have been recovered and the investigation continues with additional arrests expected.
