One man was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries after an accident on Route OO between Burfordville and Gordonville. The man was headed east on Route OO and apparently crossed the center line in a white Toyota Camry, causing an oncoming semi-truck to swerve into a ditch and its trailor to jackknife. A Marble Hill, Mo., man was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries Friday after a nearly head-on collision on Route OO between Burfordville and Gordonville.

Kevin Jantz, 22, was headed east on Route OO and crossed the center line in a white Toyota Camry, causing an oncoming truck, driven by Keith Shumpert, to swerve into a ditch and its trailer to jackknife. The trailer was carrying a piece of construction equipment west on the road.

"If I hadn't swerved, he would have hit me head on," Shumpert said.

The accident occurred around 12:15 p.m.

Jantz was taken to Saint Francis Medical Center. The truck driver was uninjured.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Gordonville firefighters responded to the scene of the crash. Traffic was blocked in the area for about an hour.

Debris from the accident hit the roof of a third vehicle.
