The Southeast Missourian asked people for their opinion of major league baseball following the strike and cancellation of the 1994 World Series.
Lance Craft: "I think the owners ought to just fire the striking players and bring up the Triple A people to play."
Jeremy Smith: "It's crazy. I think baseball players should play for baseball. It seems like they are playing for the money, and I don't like that."
Lori Lester: "Baseball is so traditional that it's like taking hot dogs out of a barbecue by not having a World Series. I think the baseball fans are more important than the money."
Nicole Besand: "Without baseball and the World Series it kind of ruined the summer. It disappoints me that the players seem to think more about themselves than the fans."
J.P. Clubb: "It takes the excitement and magic out of the sport with it ending like that. I'll probably get interested again next year but with a little hesitation."
Bobby Pontious: "I think it's dumb. People won't forget about the World Series being canceled."
