The Southeast Missourian asked people what they thought about the professional baseball strike scheduled to being Friday.
Harold Watson
In a way, they are getting too much money to begin with. There is no one man that is worth that much money. Some of the owners are not wanting to do their part, and some of the players are doing the same, and they're going to have to come to a happy medium.
Tyler Sauer
I think they shouldn't do it. I think its stupid, I guess. I don't think they should have salary caps. I like watching baseball, and I don't want them to go on strike.
Sam Johnson
I think it stinks. Period. I think they should have salary caps, and I don't think the players are worth that kind of money. I hope they can settle it without going on strike. I can see the owners' point, I just can't see anyone getting that much money.
Mark Klipfel
I think its pretty bad. The players have a good point, but I think they can resolve it in some way other than striking. I think now is not the right time for a strike. Let them do it in the off-season. They're all making plenty of money.
Blaine Adams
Let them strike. They make too much money. I believe they should have salary caps. As long as the fans keep paying the high-dollar ticket prices, they're going to keep bringing in that kind of money. I can't remember the last time I paid for a baseball ticket.
Brad Wittenborn
I think that baseball players probably make enough money, and the owners probably make enough money, and they could probably lower the price of things at the ballpark and still make a profit. I think salary caps could help keep equity among the league. I think it would be better for baseball, rather than having a team in a more lucrative market dominate the game and be able to go out and buy the best players.
