This week the Southeast Missourian asked, "Why did you ride in the Cape Shrine Club Poker Run?"
Larry Slinkard, Scott City
"Because I enjoy riding a Harley. It's for a good cause. It's for children who can't afford when they're sick to go to this (Shriners') hospital. It's all free."
Kathy Holmes, Cape Girardeau
"For the kids. To help the kids out, plus we enjoy riding. The Shriners' is a good organization and we (the SEMO Hog Chapter) like to support them."
Sean James, Delta
"It's for a good cause. Mainly, that's why I do it. It's my first time (on a poker run). I just enjoy riding with other people and seeing different country."
Barb Minor, Cape Girardeau
"To support motorcycling and to support the Shrine organization. Because of all of the great people who turn out for it."
Herb Lichtenegger, Jackson
"We always come out to support the Shriners and the children's hospital. We belong to the Gold Wing Roadriders Association, and we go to quite a few poker runs and scenic rides and things during the summer. This is just one of them."
