An arrest warrant has been filed for an Old Appleton man accused of felony statutory rape.
William Benjamin Wilkens, 27, has been charged with felony second-degree statutory rape and second-degree statutory sodomy. He was still at large Thursday afternoon.
A 15-year-old female victim told Cape Girardeau County sheriff’s detectives Wilkens had sex with her multiple times between July 19 and Aug. 1, according to a probable-cause statement filed Feb. 20 by detective Jaime Holloway.
The victim told her mother about the sexual acts on either Aug. 6 or 7, according to the statement. An interview with the victim was conducted Feb. 20 at Beacon Health Center.
The victim described Wilkens’ tattoos, two of which are the phrases “open inside” on his pelvis and “your name” on his buttocks, according to the statement.
Wilkens’ bond was set at $20,000 cash or surety.
