OLATHE, Kan. (AP) -- A possible strike of school bus drivers has been avoided in a second Kansas City-area school district.
The Olathe school district approved a contract with the busing company First Student on Thursday. Drivers in the Center district in Missouri on Friday passed a reworked proposal by a 10-to-1 ratio.
There is now renewed hope that contracts can be approved for drivers the Park Hill district in Missouri and Blue Valley district in Kansas.
Drivers in those districts had voted down offers and authorized strikes earlier this week.
Combined, the drivers in the four districts transport more than 19,000 students each day.
