COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Fall enrollment at the University of Missouri-Columbia is up slightly from last year, the university announced Tuesday.

Enrollment increased to 26,805 students, up from 26,124 students last year. The figures include record numbers of first-time freshmen and undergraduate students.

First-time freshmen in-creased to 4,669, the highest the university has seen. In addition, the number of undergraduate students climbed to 20,441, up from 19,698 last year.

Total minority enrollment increased by more than 100 students to 2,603 from 2,502 last fall.

This year, the mean ACT score for incoming freshmen was 25.4. The state average ACT score was 21.4.
