O'FALLON, Ill. -- Authorities have identified two women killed in a multicar accident that shut down Interstate 64 about 15 miles east of St. Louis for hours. Illinois State Police said sisters 18-year-old Jessica Uhl and 13-year-old Kelli Uhl, both of Collinsville, Ill., died in Friday's accident. The crash happened about noon in the freeway's westbound lanes near the Scott Air Force base exit. State trooper Matt Mitchell was responding to an accident report when another car cut in front of him. A witness told police that Mitchell lost control of his vehicle, crossed the interstate median and hit at least one other car. Mitchell was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital and is in good condition. Two others were injured.
