Officers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Cape Girardeau Police Department participated in the local Special Olympics' Law Enforcement Torch Run on Wednesday. Police ran with the torch down Kingshighway from near the intersection of Silver Springs Road to the city limits. Local police were among 750 law enforcement officers statewide participating in the torch run, which culminates today with the opening ceremony of the 2009 State Summer Games in Springfield.
