Formed in Cape Girardeau in the winter of 2004, Roadside Memory has become a great band in a very short amount of time. Following very few defined lines by mixing strong piano-based rock, male and female vocal harmonies lend to their edgy rock feel. All of these combinations make them a must see for rock, alternative, and pop fans alike.
Knotted Fear has been through several phases before reaching the point of performing for clubs. The group began as a high school band that went nowhere. After a year that band broke up. However, Brad Ruppel and James Phillips continued to play, subsequently acquiring a new bassist, Brandon Coomer, and a new drummer, Dustin Smithey. Having a unique yet familiar sound, Knotted Fear's major influences include Slipknot, Otep, Pantera, and Mudvayne. Despite those influences, the band refuses to play cover songs or a style that belongs to another band. All songs are original, consisting of a strange mix of heavy metal and ballad speed.
Born out of a love for cheap beer, Nintendo and loud guitars, Rock Solid is a new edition to the Cape scene. This band of critically ignored "riff-busters" is made up of Party Nate, Jeb, Shiv and newest solid rocker who goes by the name of Murphy. Two of the band's national hits, "Contra Wars pt1" and "Marching Towards Death" have seen local airplay on Rage 103.7. Rock Solid will be sure to satisfy that "man, I would really like to see a 'jam' band that knew how to rock
St. Louis-based Essence of lojic combines styles of hard rock and funk with elements of reggae, jazz, hip-hop and blues. Formed in 2001, the group is powered by the capturing riffs and rhythms of guitarist Dave Seithel, the intricate walking and slap bass lines of bassist Dan Hunzeker, Jeff Nations' melodic vocal stylings and guitar work, the solid and seasoned drum beats by Brian Schaeffer, and masterful turntable scratching by the one and only DJ Mahf. Essence of lojic has rocked some of the Midwest's finest venues, including The Pageant, Mississippi Nights, The Blue Note and Pop's. At Pop's the band shared the stage with Josh Todd of the rock band Buckcherry. Their explosive live show is one of a kind, with pure, raw energy and emotion. On October 1, 2004, the band released their debut full-length album, titled What's The Story?. If you're looking for head-nodding, body- movin' music that stands high above the primitive, simplistic, mainstream "bands" that over-saturate the media and radio these days, then look no further...you've found Essence Of Logic.
