The Missouri League for Nursing will present the workshop, "The Charge Nurse Case Manager in Long Term Care," Tuesday at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
The workshop will provide charge nurse case managers with concrete information regarding roles, responsibilities and accountability in long-term care.
Objectives include defining the traditional term "charge nurses," identifying and discussing the concept of "charge nurse case manager" in long-term care facilities, identifying how the nurse case manager concept fits with respect to good quality of care and quality of life as set forth in OBRA regulations, and discussing the ethical responsibilities of continuing education in gerontological nursing.
The workshop presenter in Lois Bonnot, institutional advisory nurse in the program development unit of the Missouri Division of Aging.
The program has been approved for six contact hours by the Missouri Nurses' Association.
The workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. in the cardiac rehabilitation room of Southeast. Fees are $30 for Missouri League Nursing members and $50 for non-members. Interested persons may contact the Missouri League for Nursing at 635-5355.
