Winners of the Quality of Life Awards for 1995 will be honored May 31 at a luncheon sponsored by the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program of the Southeast Missouri Area Agency on Aging. The luncheon will be held at the Baptist Association building, 5103 Old Cape Road, Cape Girardeau, beginning at 11 a.m. Active members of the Ombudsman Program will also be guests and Carol Scott, state ombudsman, will be present to assist with the presentation of awards.
The winners are: administrator David Walker, Jackson Manor; assistant administrator Gina Grimes, Central Gardens RCF, Dexter; Director of Nurses Jeannie Banken, Gideon Care Center; certified nurse aides Jerry Williams and Carolyn Woodson, Colonial Home RCF, Doniphan; activities directors Delores Pobst of Lutheran Home, Cape Girardeau, and Joyce Jarvis, Westwood Hills, Poplar Bluff; social services director Maxine Belcher, Westwood Hills, Poplar Bluff; housekeeper Judy Weston, Farmington Manor RCF; and office manager Tammy House, Gideon Care Center.
Winners were nominated by other staff, ombudsman volunteers and others who observed exceptional service to residents of long term care facilities. Some of the winners work in skilled nursing facilities, others in residential care environments.
