A local nursing home resident has earned the Golden Poet Award for her poem, "My Mother." Eldora Brown, a resident at Cape LaCroix Nursing Center, has won the Golden Poet award four years in a row. Brown says she writes a poem every day and especially enjoyed writing the poem about her mother.
