`NURSE OF YEAR'

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Cathy Peters McClard, nurse manager of Southeast Missouri Hospital's Surgical Intensive and Coronary Care Units, has received the 1991 Critical Care Nurse of the Year Award, presented by the Southeast Missouri Chapter of the American Association of Critical Care Nurse (AACN).

McClard, an employee at Southeast Hospital since 1974, holds a BSN degree from Southeast Missouri State University. She is certified as a Critical Care Registered Nurse and as a Trauma Nurse Specialist. She is also a basic, and advanced, Cardiac Life Support (CPR) instructor.

She is vice president of the Cape County Chapter of the American Heart Association; past president of the Southeast Missouri Chapter of AACN, and charter member in Sigma Theta Tau, National Nursing Honor Society, Lambda Theta Chapter.

She and husband, Michael, are parents of two sons, Andrew and Matthews.
