__As presiding commissioner, how important is it to be knowledgeable about various state and local grantors for county projects?:__
Knowledge is vital to explanation of programs. When firms contact us it is very important to be able to relay program benefits at initial meeting.
__Do most projects rely solely on grant availability before they can begin? Why or why not?:__
No initial ground work can be shared with new company capitol, along with County involvement. All partners should play a part in any new venture.
__Do you see the potential for industrial or new business growth near the future Southern Exchange at Benton and Scott City?:__ Enormous growth potential for business and housing developments.
__If you see the potential for industrial or new business growth near the future Southern Exchange at Benton and Scott City, how do you plan to attract businesses to the area?:__ Website advertising, personal contacts. After intersection is constructed business will come.

I have been part of the Scott County Commission since 2001 elected in August of 2000. Our accomplishments to list a few are, Courthouse remodeling, Drainage district implemtation, County wide public water system, Construction of Correctional facilty, and an aggresive approach on improving County Highway infrastructure. I'm humble and honored to serve the residents of Scott County as Presiding Commissioner and would appreciate your vote and support in November.
