__Poverty is among the top issues throughout Missouri's 8th District. What are your strategies to improve the district's economy and create more jobs?:__
Get government out of the way, allow the people to keep the fruit of their labor and ingenuity, and jobs will be created. Let's be clear, government does not create jobs. People who see an opportunity to apply themselves and realize a profit do. As a small business owner I know well the time and frustration of trying to build a business against government over regulation.
__A constant criticism of Congress is gridlock caused by party clashes. What efforts would you make to work with both parties to pass bills that will improve the state and the district?:__
The two 'major' parties have dominated the political landscape since 1860. Their supposed opposition to each other is a ruse. They need some competition. All their actions are to pay back their wealthy donors. The citizens are only a market to dole out favors to for votes. The type of bills I'm interested in writing are those aimed at dismantling the unconstitutional agencies and policies that depress the development and growth of small businesses.
__Do you approve of the U.S. airstrikes against ISIS?:__
Unfortunately, we created this monster and we have to take it out before it comes home. We are not the world's policeman. Our Founders warned us against "entangling alliances" abroad. We're pushing an $18 Trillion debt, a debt our grandchildren are saddled with, and we're still doling out money to foreign nations like candy at a parade. The Founders sought to be friends with other nations, and to engage in commerce, not entangling alliances.
__Do you support the Keystone XL Pipeline project?:__
Yes. It brings jobs to build it and ongoing jobs for our citizens. It brings energy closer to home, instead of continuing our dependence upon nations and people who are not friendly toward us. The pipeline can be built with an abundance of care for the environment. At some point, if all the forms of energy and industry are bad, and we fail to pursue them, we'll find ourselves without energy -period.
__Closing remarks:__
America is an exceptional nation. At our Founding our financial system was in complete collapse. Forty years later Alexis De Tocqueville wrote about our "greatness" and "vast world commerce". In 200 years, we led the world from stick plows to space shuttles. But we have faltered. We lost our knowledge of our history and Constitution, our heritage and rights. Only we the People, can find our way back, by relearning the lessons of the Founders.
