Notre Dame High School's largest fund raising event of the year, Activity Week, kicks off Friday.
During the week, classes compete to bring in the most money per capita. The winning class freshman, sophomore, junior or senior will have its candidates crowned king and queen at the Activity Week dance Oct. 2.
Money raised during the week goes into the school budget to help offset the cost of tuition.
Students will be selling magazine subscriptions, candy and fruit. They will be washing cars, raking leaves, washing windows for individuals and businesses.
New this year is a Mother's Morning Out on Saturday.
Children ages 4-8 may attend a story-telling program at the Notre Dame library from 9-10:30 a.m. The cost is $2 for the first child and $1 for each additional child.
Each class also serves a dinner as part of the fund-raising efforts.
On Friday, the senior class will serve chicken and dumplings.
On Sept. 28, the sophomores will serve spaghetti. Sept. 29, the juniors will serve chili and Sept. 30 the freshmen will serve barbecue pork.
The dinners cost $4 for adults; $2 for children ages 6-11. Children five and under eat free. Meals will be served from 5-7 p.m. each evening.
