Notre Dame Regional High School is celebrating its 85th anniversary. Here are some early photographs from St. Mary's High School and Cape Girardeau Catholic High School, later renamed Notre Dame High School.

This picture of St. Mary's High School was taken in 1951. Situated on the northwest corner of Sprigg and William streets, the building was formerly Saint Francis Hospital. The school opened its doors on Sept. 1, 1925 with an enrollment of 14 and one teacher; only freshman subjects were taught. The building was constructed in 1878 for the Sisters of St. Francis as a hospital. It served that purpose until 1914 when the Saint Francis Hospital on Good Hope street was built. The high school continued until 1954 when Cape Catholic High School was built.
