Nomination forms for the Governor's Humanities Awards are available. The award is given annually by the governor and the Missouri Humanities Council to recognize teachers, community outreach programs and literature. Forms are available online. Nominations will be accepted until Feb. 15 for the following categories:
* Excellence in Education: one or more K-12 teachers of English, history, languages, or social studies in public or private schools.
* Exemplary Community Achievement: an individual or group who has made a special contribution to a community's understanding of and support for humanities-related endeavors on the local and/or state level.
* Distinguished Literary Achievement: an individual or group whose book or publication increased understanding and appreciation of Missouri's history and culture.
