The workshop, taught by Don and Janet Presson of Keyboards and Kindermusik Conservatory, will be offered from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2.

The teachers say the workshop is geared for beginners and note-readers alike, but is not for those who want to perform classical pieces.

"We stress having fun," they say.

Students will learn how to use chord symbols instead of the traditional note-for-note music reading, and will learn to use sheet music in a completely new way.

They say the method is most suitable for playing pop, gospel, country and blues.
