An apartment fire at 3001 Mimosa Drive on Tuesday resulted in no injuries and minimal damage.
Firefighters were sent to the scene about 11:15 a.m.
Cape Girardeau Fire Department battalion chief Steve Niswonger said on scene the fire was accidental and was the result of plumbers on the subfloor of the building soldering copper joints.
Firefighters used a 2 1/2-gallon water can to put out the fire. Crews had a fan set up outside the window of the affected main floor apartment to clear out the remainder of the smoke.
Niswonger said there was no smoke damage and about 12 square inches of subfloor were burnt by the fire.
