No Cape Girardeau residents lost power Sunday afternoon after a driver crashed into a power pole and then a home on North Frederick Street.

Sgt. Rick Schmidt of the Cape Girardeau Police Department said they suspect the man had a medical issue that caused him to lose consciousness. The driver was not injured and refused medical care at the scene.

Cement stairs in front of a residence at 15 N. Frederick St. were damaged, he added. No one in the home was injured.

Schmidt said traffic was blocked in the area for less than half an hour while Ameren Missouri was on the scene.
