The man left, then returned about 12:15 p.m., when he approached the residents on their porch, produced a handgun and demanded money, Selzer said. The residents refused and he fired a shot next to the house, but away from the victims, Selzer said. The man fled and the victims called the police.

Police have not released the identity of the man believed to be involved in the incident, but have applied for warrants for robbery, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a concealable firearm.
