JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Democratic Attorney General Jay Nixon says he raised nearly $1.5 million for his gubernatorial campaign in the past three months.
Nixon's campaign claims that is more than any candidate for Missouri governor has ever raised in the first quarter of an election year. Nixon now has $2.7 million on hand.
His campaign released the finance figures Tuesday before a 5 p.m. deadline to file reports with the Missouri Ethics Commission.
Republican Treasurer Sarah Steelman said Monday that she has more than $1.4 million on hand for her gubernatorial bid. That includes a $500,000 personal loan.
Republican Congressman Kenny Hulshof has not yet released his gubernatorial campaign figures.
