Hermann was taken to St. Francis Medical Center, where she was treated and released.

The patrol reported that William and Edna Phillips were taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital. A hospital spokesman said Edna Phillips was hospitalized in fair condition, but had no record of treating William Phillips.

The spokesperson said Hermann drove a southbound 1990 Dodge Caravan onto the wrong side of the road and into the path of a northbound 1974 International driven by William Phillips. Their vehicle spun around in the road and struck a third vehicle, a 1985 Honda, driven north by John Ritter, 20, of Cape Girardeau, he said.
