The Scott City Council will welcome two newcomers at its meeting next month after residents voted Tuesday to elect Ron Cummins to represent Ward 3 and Randy Morse for Ward 4.

Morse, 53, receiving 60 percent of the vote, beat out incumbent Jordan Heisserer by 28 votes. Heisserer received 54 total votes.

"I will do my best to serve our community," Morse said.

Cummins, 46, beat out Robert E. Tyler by just 11 votes, receiving approval from 53 percent of the voters.

"The sad thing is someone has to win and someone has to lose," Cummins said. "But, like I said, I want to help the kids as much as possible. I look forward to bringing new ideas to the city."

In Oran, Billy Senciboy was elected to serve on the city's board of aldermen, representing Ward 1. Senciboy, with 53 percent of the vote, beat out Tim Daniels and Justin Bradley. Larry Phillips in Ward 2 ran unopposed for his seat and Brenda Cook in Ward three also ran unopposed. Six write-ins were counted for Ward 4.

In Chaffee, voters elected incumbent Dennis Glastetter to continue serving on the city council for Ward 4. Glastetter won the seat by eight votes, beating Darin L. McFerron.

In the Illmo Special Road District, voters chose Duston Stone over Bob Keesee Sr. Stone received 490 votes to 284 for Keesee.

All results are unofficial until certified by the Scott County Commission.
