TOLEDO, Ohio Dana Corporation, headquartered at Toledo, has announced a new joint venture with Tianjin Auto Filter Factory (TAFF) of Tianjin, People's Republic of China, for the manufacture of Dana's WIX brand filters.
TAFF is one of the 50 factories under the leadership of Tianjin Auto Industry Corporation, which is Cnina's fourth largest manufacturer of automobiles and trucks and one of that country's major producers of light trucks and vans.
Dana, which has a Spicer Axle Division facility at Cape Girardeau, is the largest independent manufacturer of components for automobiles and trucks in the U.S., and second largest in the world, with total sales of $4.9 billion in 1989.
WIX Corp., a leader in the manufacturer of filters, was founded in 1939 in Gastonia, N.C., and was acquired by Dana in 1979. In addition to its 10 U.S. facilities, WIX works with affiliations in Australia, Venezuela and Canada.
