New children's titles include The Berenstain Bears' Mad, Mad, Mad Toy Craze by Stan Berenstain, Shawn and Keeper by Jonathan London, Eggbert, the Slightly Cracked Egg, by Tom Ross, Minerva Louise at School by Janet Morgan Stoeke, Mommies are for Counting Stars, by Harriet Ziefert and Hurricane Andrew by Victoria Sherrow;

New titles in the Young Adult category include Busted and Death Strike by Jerry Jenkins, both of the "Left Behind-the Kids" series.

Ten magazine subscriptions have been given to the Main Facility in Jackson by local businessman, Fritz Sander. The new titles are now available: Bicycling, Fitness, Gourmet, Brides, Family Life, Pet Life, Working Woman, Today's Home Owner, American Homestyle and Gardening, and Computer Games Strategy Plus.

The library system will be closed September 4 for Labor Day.
