Mississippi County students at Southeast Missouri State University will benefit from a scholarship program set up by one of the county's longtime residents. The Southeast Missouri University Foundation received $129,450 from Eugenia Bush, according to a university news release. Bush died Oct. 31 at the age of 90. She and her husband, Bob Bush, operated Budget Laundry in East Prairie, Mo. According to the release, eligible students must graduate from a high school in Mississippi County, be academically qualified and have financial need. In fall 2009, Southeast had 186 students enrolled from the county.
